ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Championship is still to be decided with two weeks left in the season. Mike Lane of Wing, AL has a two-point lead over Jason Baker of Addison, AL. After Week 27 competition, Lane has been suspended for the final two weeks of the season for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

The title is now in Baker’s hands, as he has to win out in the final two weeks of the season to win the 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Championship. Lane has a best 14-week total of 698 points. Baker has a best 14-week total of 696 points and he will be netting on a 49.

A Week 28 win and a Week 29 win would give Baker a best 14-week total of 698 points to tie Lane’s point total. The tie breaker is number of 50-point wins. Lane has 12 50-point wins, and Baker currently has 11 50-point wins this season. If Baker doesn’t post a 50-point win in Week 28 competition this Saturday night, Lane wins the Championship.

If Baker gets a 50-point win this Saturday night, we go on to Week 29 to decide the National Championship. Lane was disqualified Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL and did not net any points. Baker finished second on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN and was unable to net on a 49.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
