Just spitballing here, but maybe the car didn’t pass pre race tech and they couldn’t fix whatever the issue was at the track. That would be the most logical explanation to me.

Michael Page with his 2nd career Lucas victory leading all 50 tonight.
Wasn't much movement the entire race top to bottom.

7th to 3rd in 60 laps is not very impressive on any stage.
Overton averaged one car passed per 15 laps.
So, out of 24 cars only 1 car had a good night with passing.

    Page (1st-1st)
    Owens (2nd-2nd)
    Overton (7th-3rd)
    Madden (5th-4th)
    Davenport (4th-5th)
    McDowell (3rd-6th)
    Moran (6th-7th)
    O’Neal 5 (10th-8th)
    Marlar ***(21st-9th)***
    McCreadie (12th-10th)
    McIntosh (8th-11th)
    Richards (15th-12th)
    Buckingham (11th-13th)
    Hedgec*ck (13th-14th)
    Moyer Jr ***(9th-15th)***
    O’Neal 71 (16th-16th)
    Erb (20th-17th)
    Scott 2s (18th-18th)
    Pearson Jr (23rd-19th)
    Bronson (17th-20th)
    Payne (22nd-21st)
    Horton (19th-22nd)
Roland ***(14th-23rd)*** dropped out lap 22.
    Hill (24th-24th)

Like I said, not much movement tonight.

Lucas races are 50 laps. I’m just saying, wasn’t trying to talk it up. It seems like pretty much typical for tracks down In that area.

    Default Logical explanation

Either something was wrong with the car, or he tweaked something again. I don’t care who says he is fine, he walks like crap. It’s a gentle hobble.

Or we could go with whatever SS and Livewire say. Totally logical I’m sure.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

The racing at Dixie Speedway sucks. Always has.

We enjoyed some things about our first trip to Dixie last night, but I mostly just care about the racing. I’d been told that it’s pretty much like most tracks in the Deep South, and that unfortunately turned out to be true. I’ll give any track at least one try, but we probably won’t be making a second trip to Dixie. My overall take was, it’s probably been just the way it is for a long, long time and they still draw a good crowd (it was packed last night) so they don’t feel the need to make any changes. The location is fantastic — easy access from 75 and just a few minutes from Atlanta — but it looks like it’s being crowded out by all the growth around it. This track I’m sure once was considered to be out in the sticks, but it sure isn’t anymore. That’s usually a sign that it won’t be around much longer.

The track was fine. Few cars dropped out and the fast ones started up front. No cautions, so there wasn't chances for guys to catch up or have double file restarts. The groove was actually pretty wide.

Some say the racing wasn't very good. Is that why Bloomqueist didn't race?

The groove widened as the night went on, but it wasn’t wide enough for good racing. Overton seemed to have the best car, but even when he got right up on someone it was taking several laps to make a pass. Even passing lapped cars took some work. We left after the super feature. Up to that point, there hadn’t been a pass for the lead in any race — heat or feature — in any class, all night. The track wasn’t locked down on the bottom like some tracks do (Swainsboro every week), but it was still very tough for the cars up front to pass. Based on conversations I had at the track, this was typical Dixie. If we lived closer, I’d go to this race again maybe, just because I love the sport and I love seeing the best of the best race. I just hope they don’t have to close it down.

I didn't see page struggle mightily to pass lappers. I just didn't see a train at all. I saw slower cars not advancing.

Overton did have the best car over the final 10 laps, but there was no cautions to help him and he ran out of laps.

I agree it was not locked down on the bottom, so I don't think it's fair to blame the track. The cars are just close in speed, aero dependent, and the fast ones are up front, except Marlar.
