ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Just one race was on the Week 29 schedule for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division to close out the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season. Dusty Leonard of Marysville, KS took his ninth win of the season on Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS, in a race co-sanctioned with NCRA.

That race had no effect on the Top 10 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division point standings, so the table is set for the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet. The Top 10 drivers will step to the stage to receive a point fund check and a trophy. Banquet details will be announced in the near future.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National Champion with a best 14-week total of 699 points. In 27 races, The General had 14 wins, 25 top five finishes, and 27 Top ten finishes driving the Billy Riels Racing Special. Lee will pick a check for $10,000 at the banquet.

Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL is the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National Championship Runner-Up with a best 14-week total of 691 points. In 24 races, Mitchell has eight wins, 20 top five finishes and 23 top ten finishes in the Sparks Energy Rocket.

Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS drove the Steele’s Dive Special to the third spot in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings. Russell had a best 14-week total of 688 points to tie Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS, but Russell won the tie-breaker with five 50-point wins to four 50-point wins for Scarbrough. Russell had five wins, 19 top five finishes, and 23 top ten finishes.

Scarbrough will finish in the fourth spot of the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 688 points. Scarbrough had five wins that included one 40-point win, 20 top five finishes and 26 top ten finishes in 27 races driving the Villa South Special.

Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS will finish fifth in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 685 points. Cameron drove the Cameron Motor Company Special to 3 wins, 17 top five finishes and 20 top ten finishes in 22 races.

Seth McCormack of Muscle Shoals, AL takes the sixth spot in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 672 points. McCormack had one win, 15 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes in 21 races driving the McCormack Marine Construction Rocket.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is seventh in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 672 points driving the Jarrell Racing Rocket. Jarrell had one win, 17 top five finishes, and 24 top ten finishes in 25 races.

Oakley Johns of Hohenwald, TN finishes eighth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 664 points. In 16 races, Johns had four wins, 13 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes driving the Johns Farms Special. Johns is also currently third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring point standings.

Ben Brocato of Muscle Shoals, AL is ninth in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings driving the Valley Metal Fabricators Special to a best 14-week total of 663 points. Brocato had four wins, 12 top five finishes, and 18 top ten finishes in 20 races.

Tootie Arnold of Meadville, MS rounds out the top ten in the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 648 points. Arnold drove the Derek’s Auto Shop Special to two wins, ten top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 16 races.
