Sad day. Seen a ton of great racing there over the years. Hopefully another promoter will buy it.

That knuckle head should stay away from dirt racing. Sadly he runs World Racing Group. The fiasco at Rockford a few years ago tells me so.

I agree. Seen a bunch of good races there over the years. Weaver and Pierce Summer Nationals race was a good one.

The place was never the same same without racer x being there.

It would be nice if someone that actually respected the racers and the fans could purchase it and make it the great facility it once was!

As much as I can't stand the way they operate... a WRG "home track" could bring in some nice specials. The place is a great location if marketed right. I hate to think i've seen my last race there.

Few folks on here will even know what you're talking about. I do and I agree.

I think the loss of Racer X is what did them in

What is this referring to?

2 million seems like a crazy number to me.

If my memory serves me correctly the facility prior to the purchase by the Izzo's was called Tommy's La Salle Speedway. Tommy has some serious health issues and passed away. The Izzo's bought the property in 1991 for the sum $175,000.00 at that time. Tommy's son, whose name I can't recall, raced there for quite some time. His car number was K9.

Overweight guy with a too small driver’s suit and wearing a helmet that used to go through the crowd and greet people when they were leaving. Saw him on ESPN one time down at Indy. Announcers were getting quite a chuckle.

Mikes father is Larry, I believe he was Tommy's brother but not 100% sure.
