    Default 79mustang help

Hi everyone new to the site and looking for help. Been around racing my whole life but just acquired a 79/80 mustang last year and put my first season on it. For the most part the 2.3 is stock internals bored .030 and shaved head about as much as possible. Have an extremely reputable machine shop do my work if I remember correctly it was machined .180. D port head and motorcraft 2150 carb off a 400. Did pretty well keeping up with this setup but im looking for info to make this a front runner. planning on shaving the flywheel as much as possible or going to a triple disc clutch but looking for the best set up internally then its on to best chassis setup racing 1/4mile and one 3/8 mile track.

A lot of grey areas 1 track with no rules at all the rest gotta be stock appearing but I could do lighter pistons and rods or crank but gotta be close to stock cam can't have a crazy lope only 1 race at the end of season they might pull the valve cover if suspect crazy mods
