    Lightbulb Track Records???

Just something to Ponder on...With all the new technology, money being spent on shocks, new chassis, the best of the best, this trick and that trick, why isn’t track records being broke every week? We all know that DLM racing has progressed so quickly in the last few years, but are the new 50k chassis really that much better than the ones from a few years back? We all know that tires plays a major factor in lap times but so does a 1k set of shocks vs a 5k set.

when a lot of tracks ran supers weekly you had many more chances in a year for the track to be perfect in qualifying to break that track record. Odds of the track to be right when the touring series comes to town are just that much less. The real question is how much faster are the lap times at lap 50 of a feature event now then before.

Most advancements in technology have improved performance and handling when tracks loose traction. Everyone is fast on a heavy track. While track records may not be broken frequently, overall lap speeds throughout an event are certainly improving.
