    12th Annual Cabin Fever Shakedown Opens Iron-Man Season at Boyd’s Speedway Feb. 1-2

    SOMERSET, KY (January 25, 2020)—The 2020 season openers for the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt and the Brucebilt Iron-Man Open Wheel Series will take place on Saturday and Sunday February 1-2 at the SNL Entertainment, LLC-promoted Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. during the 12th Annual Cabin Fever Shakedown event.

    The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series will race for $5,000-to-win spread across Saturday and Sunday February 1 and 2. On Saturday, the Iron-Man Late Models will hot lap, qualify and heat race. On Sunday, the Iron-Man Late Models will hot lap, have Consolation races and the 40-lap $5,000-to-win event. This race will serve as the season opening non-points “exhibition-style” event to open the sixth season of competition.

    The Brucebilt Iron-Man Open Wheel Series will race a full show of hot laps, qualifying, heat races and the 25-lap feature race on Sunday paying $1,200-to-win. This race will also serve as the season opening non-points “exhibition-style” event to open the fourth season of competition.

    Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala. is the defending Cabin Fever winner as he took the payday over Dillon Tidmore, Justin Shipley, Justin Litchford and Cruz Skinner. The Iron-Man Series last sanctioned the Cabin Fever event back in 2017 when Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn. took the victory over Billy Ogle Jr., Justin Litchford, John Ownbey and David Brannon. Brad Hall won the Brucebilt Iron-Man Open Wheel Series race at Boyd’s Speedway back in 2017.

    In addition to the Late Model preliminaries on Saturday, the Super Stocks ($500-to-win) no Entry Fee and $30.00 to start, the 604 Crate Late Models ($1,500-to-win) with $50.00 Entry Fee and $50.00 to Start, Driver Development ($300-to-win) no Entry Fee with $35.00 to start, Hobby ($500-to-win) with no Entry Fee with $30.00 to start and United CC Modified Series ($1,000-to-win) $50.00 Entry fee includes Transponder with $75.00 to start will all race on Saturday February 1st.

    Practice for this event will be on Saturday January 25th with the pit gates opening at 9:00 am, practice starting at Noon. Pit passes for the January 25th practice day is $20.00 and the grandstands will be open for free.

    On Friday Night January 31st the pit gates open at 5:00 pm with Teams Traveling being allowed come in early and get their team a parking spot for Free. Friday night will include a Simulator Event from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm with LIVE entertainment, weather permitting.

    On Saturday February 1, the pits will open at 9:00 am, the grandstand gates & concessions will open at 10:00 am, the drivers meeting is slated for 12:00 pm and hot laps will roll out around 12:30 pm. Adult grandstand admission is $20.00 while kids 12 and under are free. Adult pit passes are $35.00 with kids 12 and under admitted for $10.00. A two-day pit pass for $60.00 will be offered on Saturday that covers Saturday and Sunday, a $10.00 savings. Parking pads are $20.00 each day except for Iron-Man Late Models, $20.00 for two Days.

    On Sunday February 2nd, the Super Late Model Consolations & Feature along with a full show for the Iron-Man Open Wheels ($1,200-to-win) will be followed by racing in the Sportsman ($1,000-to-win) with a $40.00 Entry Fee with $100 to start, KMSA Mini Stocks ($1000-to-win) with an $80 Entry Fee and $100 to Start and the Front Wheel Drives ($300-to-win) with no Entry Fee and $35.00 to start.

    On Sunday February 2, the pits will open at 9:00 am, the grandstand gates & concessions will open at 10:00 am, a church service will be held around 11:30 am, the drivers meeting is slated for 12:30 pm and hot laps will roll out around 1:00 pm. Adult grandstand admission is $20.00 while kids 12 and under are free. Adult pit passes are $35.00 with kids 12 and under admitted for $10.00. A two-day pit pass for $60.00 will be offered on Saturday that covers Saturday and Sunday, a $10.00 savings.

    Camping for this event will be on the left side of the property by the Tan Building. No hook ups are provided. Parking lot lights are on sensors. No personal vehicle cars will be allowed in the pit area. Golf cart/4-wheeler parking for spectators wishing to go to the pit area will need be on the left side of the property where the camping area is. No exceptions.

    The tire rule for the Iron-Man Late Models will be as follows: Hoosier 1350, 1600 & LM40 along with the American Racer 48 & 56 compounds allowed anywhere on the car. The tire rule for the Iron-Man Open Wheels is as follows: Hoosier M30s & M60 along with the American Racer Hard & Extra Hard. The M60 & Extra Hard may be used as right-rear options. For the Late Models, no droop rule will be implemented. Iron-Man Series rules and procedures will be enforced. The Late Model Series entry fee is $100.00 while the Open Wheel Series entry fee is $40.00.

    Boyd’s Speedway 2020 Rules will be in action for Crate Late Models, Sportsman. Hobby, Driver Development, Front Wheel Drives (Hot Shots), and Super Stock classes running in this event.
