Wow notice how much body roll those Hudson's had they looked like they were on rails.

Those fair races were such a good time. 2 stock car and one Indy car all in one week.

Thanks for posting. In this day it’s hard to imagine a time where a guy bought a street car as a starting point.
    I hate time trials.

Ah, the fabulous Hudsons with Twin H Power (2 single barrel carbs). My Grandfather was a loyal Hudson guy until they went under. They were, basically, a channeled chassis getting the COG very low and they handled great for the day, though the steering was a very heavy.

Gramp worked for my dad's construction company and any of the crew that went his direction home after work waited for the old man to leave first cause he was going to blow by you very soon. When Hudson closed he switched to Olds 88s for the rest of his driving days and was even more of a road terror, especially when Oldsmobile brought out the 3 carbed J2 stuff. Sure miss those cars... and my grandfather.

Great story and some great memories. I read one time where Smoky Yunick talked about cheating up those Hudson's the man was a genius.
