ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series has announced schedule changes to its 2020 National Tour amid the COVID 19 Virus situation. The first three races of the 2020 National Touring season have been rescheduled for the month of April.

The season opening two-race Rumble On The Gumbo at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS has been rescheduled for April 17 and April 18. The April 17 race is a $2,000-to-win 40-lap event and the April 18 race is a $2,500-to-win 50 lap event. The race was originally scheduled for April 3 and April 4.

The $3,000-to-win 50 lap Shoals Showdown at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL has been rescheduled for April 25. Round 3 of the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series season was originally scheduled for April 18.

The two races scheduled for NASCAR Weekend at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL that were originally scheduled for April 24 and 25 will be rescheduled pending the rescheduled date to be announced by NASCAR for racing action at Talladega Superspeedway.

The schedule shuffle by Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series officials is a result of Federal, State, and Local Emergencies issued as a result of the COVID 19 Virus that run through the first week of April. As of now, no restrictions are in place after the first week of April.

“We have decided to be proactive and go ahead and plan for the future after the current restrictions end concerning the COVID 19 Virus,” Crate Racin’ USA Director Adam Stewart said. “Crate Racin’ USA, our marketing partners, member tracks and competitors have taken this National Emergency very seriously, and we hope the situation will have improved by mid-April so we can get on with the 2020 season with these rescheduled dates.”

Stewart said Crate Racin’ USA will continue to closely monitor the situation among Federal, State, and Local Government channels of the tracks scheduling National events and adhere to any further guidelines and/or restrictions concerning the COVID 19 Virus. Crate Racin’ USA officials are continuing to stay in close contact with all of its Weekly Racing Series tracks regarding when the 27-week 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series season can open. Crate Racin’ USA officials want to make sure all tracks in all states and communities are clear of any COVID 19 Virus related restrictions before opening the 2020 season.
