Officials with the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance and Friendship Motor Speedway have announced that the tour’s season opener, slated for April 11th has been postponed. The postponement comes after North Carolina Governor, Roy Cooper, issued a “stay at home” order through April 30th amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“While we continue to take our race by race approach, we had no choice but to postpone the 2020 season opener,” said FASTRAK Vice President DJ Irvine, “Our number one commitment is to the safety of our teams, fans, tracks, and officials. We will continue to monitor the situation and make announcements accordingly. We will adhere to all federal, state, and local guidelines and policies.”

Plans to reschedule the $2,000 to win race will be made as quickly as possible. Officials with FASTRAK and Friendship Motor Speedway will work to reschedule as a more definitive timeline becomes available.

The next event on the 2020 FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance is the 3rd Annual Great American Crate Race at Tyler County Speedway, paying $7,000 to win. That race is slated for April 25th, and is also the debut of the FASTRAK Racing Series Northeast Tour.
