    lol yeah, those don't count.
Scott wasn't the only one out in the cold. Jimmy Johnson looked really bad Sunday and that's with a new state of the art simulator. Their weren't to many late model drivers up front last night either. Ashton Winger probably looks the best and understandably so. He has a ton of time on IRacing. Same with Stroupe, Mike McKinney and a few other young guys.

Don't take my post seriously. It was oozing ALOT of sarcasm.

Actual Late model racing stars do tend to be a bit older than sprint car drivers as you saw in people the A-main fields on FS1.

Not a knock because those LM drivers are really wily veterans on their own real dirt turf. But this is a whole different deal and maybe some grandkids need to get some of those LM veterans that are interested up to speed.

Is it realistic, sort of... but you have to just open up your viewpoint and not get stuck on some of the non-realistic portions of the show. Its like going to the movies and watching racing scenes, they usually suck.

    I will watch again...

Its all the rage with the kids willbill, my son (30) streams his gaming and in lieu of television he spends the majority of his free time watching others game on an app called Twitch.
Its why we cant get them to goto the race tracks. This mess we are in will cement thier behaviour even more.

Honestly if you haven’t played you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the closest most of us will get to racing a super late, a 410, cup car, trophy truck, rally cross, or an Indy car. Watching it is ok but I feel watching races on tv are just ok as well.

For anyone looking to cure the cabin fever, I’m a mod in Jesse Enterkins(Hunt The Front) twitch/YT channels and he races with his viewers 3-4 times a week. We also have a discord we sit around in and talk about and watch racing in. Next week he’s racing for 4K on iracing... pretty cool.

If you can’t at least somewhat enjoy watching these shows, I feel sorry for you.

My son is 27 and deep into iRacing. Hell, I bought him brake pedals (???) as a Christmas gift. But ... he’s been my dirt racing sidekick (real in person dirt late model racing), since he was three-years old, and still is. The minute we’re able to go back to the real thing, I’ll be there. And he will too. Our kids loving this iRacing stuff, doesn’t mean they stopped loving the real thing.

Iracing can't and will no way ever duplicate the sound, feel and smell of 20+ 900 horsepower race cars going by.

No one has said it will. But it’s a fun way to enjoy racing in the meantime.

I know no one said it will. That's just my opinion.

I joined last August and it is pretty awesome. Getting in an Indy car and turning laps at Charlotte is pretty mind numbing when you consider that is what it would be like. It is absolutely ludicrous and definitely gives one an appreciation for what these guys do.

In my case, all the dirt tracks have closed anywhere close around me. I have to drive 2 1/2- 3 hours to catch any dirt action. Will it ever completely replace my desire of seeing the real thing, absolutely not. But, when you can’t see it, it’s the next best thing.

McKinney and several others have been playing sim racing on dirt for years. I raced with Mike and RT20 a bunch on r factor when it was big on the dirt side, they both were (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) near unbeatable when they showed up in a random race. This was around 2009 or so. I'd love to have iracing, I just can't swing the cash right now to buy everything I need.

McKinney didn’t even make the A main in tonight’s vlr race taking 24 out of 60 guys... open setup races guys devote their lives to this. Testing all the time.

Driving a super late model in iRacing is quite difficult. Most people spend the first ten hours or so spinning around or puttering around the track slow. The fact that these guys did as well as they did is pretty awesome.
