A typical late model from about a decade prior to the time the transition was made to non stock appearing bodies and non stock frames and suspension's. Unfortunately I was not old enough to remember these cars when they were raced but I love the way they looked. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a big block in this car in spite of the 283 small block call-out's on the front fenders!

I'm not positive but I believe this car was owned by Bill Kreighauser of Gridley, Illinois and Lynn Wilson drove it. This '67 Chevelle was a thing of beauty, artwork on a dirt track!

intel8, I have been sent a few pics from that sight from time to time. Tipton was the first track I got to race at, haven't heard much about it over the last few years; is it still running?

Tipton has specials only, they are promoted by Darkside Promotios from Maquoketa. Al and Kathy Dlouhy (sp) still do the track prep there, met them at East Moline a few years back, nice people.

I remember Al (didn't he run a frame machine over in Moline?) He fixed my cars a few times if I remember correctly... Went to East Moline some back then as well (Blue Grass, Davenport, etc).

I never asked what he did besides prep the track. Blue Grass now that was quite the place, took my car there for a fall special and it came home looking like a trash can with 20 years of service🤣
