Tazewell Speedway season opener set for Sunday, May 24

Tazewell, Tennessee – Tazewell Speedway will start the 2020 season on Sunday, May 24 with the Melvin Corum Memorial. The $3,001 to win race will be sanctioned by the United Crate Racing Alliance.

Some of the area’s top crate late model drivers will be at Tazewell Speedway to tackle the high banks at the World’s Fastest 1/3-Mile Dirt Track.

Also racing will be sportsman, street stocks, classic cars, and four cylinders.

General admission tickets are $15 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:00, followed by racing action.

During Sunday’s intermission, there will be a fireworks show.

There will be social distancing rules in place for this event. Masks are recommended, but not required. Fans wishing to use a mask may bring their own or buy one at the track for $1.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
