Toyota of Knoxville 50 slated for May 30 at Tazewell Speedway

The Toyota of Knoxville 50 is the next event at Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, May 30. The $10,000 to win race is expected to draw some big names for this one-night event.

This year’s Toyota of Knoxville is a co-sanctioned event between the Iron Man Late Models and the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals.

Also racing will be sportsman late models for $1,000 to win, street stocks for $500 to win, and classic cars for $600 to win.

Pit gates open at 2:00 for super late model teams only. All other race teams will be staged in the grandstand parking lot until 4:00. Four wheels are allowed with a race car in the pits. Side-by-sides and personal vehicles will not be allowed in the pit area.

Grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:00. Hot laps and time trials will begin at 7:30.

Grandstand tickets are $25 for adults, kids 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $40, kids 12 and under are $30 with a signed minor's release. Camping spots, with electric, are $30, pay at the main gate. Those are first come, first serve. The handicap section is also first come, first serve.

Fans are welcome to bring in lawn chairs for the turn 4 hillside seating areas. Fans are asked not to use lawn chairs in the grandstand area due to the size of the crowd expected for this event.

The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department will be patrolling all parking lots throughout the night.

Those working for a racing publication or racing news site will be given highest priority.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
