ADAIRSVILLE, GA – A high percentage of a wet weather forecast has forced cancellation of Friday night’s First Responder 40 for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series at Tri-County Speedway in Flomaton, AL. Track officials have agreed to put on Saturday night’s 3rd Annual Freedom 50 as a $3,000-to-win $300-to-start race.

The top Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series drivers are entered for Round 3 of the 2020 National Tour. Cody Overton of Grovetown, GA, who won the season opener on May 23 at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA, leads both the National point standings and the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year point standings.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is currently third in the points chase and he was the 2019 National Championship Runner-Up and the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year. Parker Martin of Milledgeville, GA is fourth in the National point standings, and the 15-year-old driver also leads the VP Racing Fuels Young Gun Challenge Series point standings.

T.J. Brittain of Centre, AL is fifth in the National point standings and Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, GA is seventh after winning Round 2 at Cochran Motor Speedway on May 24. Jordy Nipper of Macon, GA is eighth in the National point standings.

Also expected for the series’ first ever visit to Tri-County Speedway are Jody Knowles of Tyrone, GA, Troy Dixon of Dallas, GA, Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS, Ryan Boudreaux of Harvey, LA and Tyler Sanders of Dublin, GA. On Saturday, the Pit Gate at Tri-County Speedway opens at 3 p.m. with Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series Registration and Pre-Race Technical Inspection from 3:30 p.m. to 6 :30 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Racing set for 7 p.m. for the 3rd Annual Freedom 50 paying $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start.
