Los Angeles is having their share and more of the crazies and nearby to us Sacramento has had 2/3 of the downtown business vandalized.

We have no spectator race for our Pro Stock tour, along with A Mods and Hobby Stocks scheduled for this Saturday at Antioch Speedway in Antioch, CA, another Bay area city. Antioch right now has a 6 p:m: to 5 a:m: curfew that doesn't expire until Tuesday. Their mayor says they have credible information that the looters are on the way and a couple of the bigger shopping areas of the city ; BevMo, Best Buy. Costco, etc. have boarded up their businesses which are in close proximity to the track. The city says the curfew will only allow people on the way to work, first responders and other emergency workers outside. The track says they have permission from the city to run on the county fairgrounds track. The area would probably be best described at East St. Louis west.

We have cars coming from southern Oregon, western Nevada and southern California as well as many of our regional NorCal racers as we're all starved to race with all the crap that has been going on this season. We're seriously debating to race or not. I'd just as soon stay home and work on the other equipment and my son is leaning ever so slightly towards going.

This season is so far the worst ever in all my decades of doing this hobby/obsession.
Over4T, did the race you speak of go off as scheduled or did they shut it down?

Yes, the Antioch race went off as scheduled. Friday the city cancelled the curfew although a couple of nearby cities were still under the curfew.

We did go and the normal 2 hour ride turned into a 3 1/2 one with traffic crawling through Sacramento with several of the freeway on/off ramps closed by the CHP blocking them in areas that had protests going on. Luckily Sac didn't have more of the overprotesting ( is that a word?) going on. Going through the Delta area the infamous cooling Delta breeze was at 30+ mph and we were glad we'd put on the driest, slick setup we could come up with.

Car counts were around 30 in all 3 classes; Pro Stocks, A Mods and Hobbies. Would have been closer to 40 per class but many of the longer haul teams were hesitant to make the tow with the uncertainty of the situation. First time we'd been there in 10 years although we used to be semi regulars with both the LM and the Mod and it was good to be back. We'd always enjoyed the competition there but got fed up with the previous promoter's BS and reluctance to send out the checks.

Track crew did the best they could with the wind and the track was slimy for most of the heats. We led most of our heat but had to get up in no man's land to clear a lapper and lost a couple of spots. That killed us for the main and had to start back in 17th on a bone dry and very dusty track. My boy would pick up 2 or 3 spots a lap then a yellow would put him back. Repeated this several times over the first few laps then got several no caution laps in , got to the top 8 and cut a RF tire in a 3 and 4 wide lap where he was the meat in the sandwich. Killed our night and ended up something like 11th. Good friend of ours' , who won all but one of his races last season, won from 20th after timing issues ruined his heat race. Felt good to race again after 3+ months of not and only a couple of minor tin scratches on the new bod so had a fun night and the very good payoff (cash) pretty much covered the evening.

The new promoter wants our tour group back again this year so our group is doing something right. Mods and Hobbies also both put on good shows. Placerville is opening next Saturday and the boy may drive the Limited Late of a friend. P'ville's 360 Sprints are awesome so glad they, too, will be there. The Pro Stock Tour's next race is at Diamond Mountain Speedway, way up north in Susanville, CA June 27 so hopefully have enough time to finish our new second car so both of us can both have some more fun. Don't care as much for just being the pit crew all the time.

P.S. If anyone's interested there's a video up of the Pro Stock main. It's on the Tri State Pro Stock Challenge public Facebook site. Not the best but, considering the dust and wind and just taken off a smartphone, about all you could expect.

Taken from the pit grandstands the rocks and grit were bad enough the guy who took it was getting pelted enough he had to go grab his helmet during a caution.

Doesn't matter how high or drunk or whatever......they had him cuffed and subdued....he didn't deserve to die for trying to pass a phoney hundo.

Cop was dead wrong, wasn't his first rodeo doing bad work like this....and now a guy that had committed a misdemeanor is dead because this cop was a control freak and a general douche of a person.

Why was this guy pulled back out of police vehicle ? That’s one piece of puzzle we don’t have yet. It seems odd to me. Why would they pull him back out of there?

Makes even less sense that he was in the car and they pulled him back out........I've only heard them do that when people are relieving themselves in the car?puking, pissing, etc.

Maybe it was that? Guy didn't have to die for it......and even if he had multiple underlying conditions or impairment.......cop sucked for treating him like that , sucked even more because clearly he was enjoying it and taunting him all along while choking him out.
