Default Lucas Magnolia / WoO Volunteer

Drivers going, put em here. Trying to decide which place to go. Been to Clash at the Mag several years in a row. But Volunteer sounds inviting and haven’t been there in years. Decisions Decisions......

I don’t even need a drivers list... Magnolia hands down and it’s not really close

Going to the Mag for the 1st time next Thursday. Any recommendations/thoughts regarding seating and beverages?

The entire front stretch is cement (terraced), with no bleachers, etc on it. So, make sure you take a chair. The best viewing near the tops and down towards turn 1 has lots of chairs set out on it as the day progresses. But, not a bad seat from anywhere. Down in turn 4, there are several RV hookup spots up on top, and then further around turn 4 are several flat grassy spots that people lease/rent for the year, where they set up 10x10 tent/canopy, chairs, etc. Just mentioning that to be aware that you could be "infringing on someone's territory" if you try to stroll into one of those sites. From about the middle of 3/4 all the way around the backstretch to nearly turn 2 is trackside parking for vehicles and/or RVs. I made a phone call to a gal with the track to inquire about that parking the one time I was there, and found some sites to be available. Parked an RV right in the middle of 3/4 and had several inches of dirt on it by the time the weekend was over. Probably wouldn't do that again, would park on the backstretch instead. (I know you didn't ask about those things specifically, just mentioning in case the info would help anyone)

I can't remember for certain, but they must not sell beer there, as I carried around and drank my own beers all weekend right out of my RV fridge. Saw other people wheeling around coolers as well, right in the main stands.

Thank you Dirt33! We won't have RV - just a rental car - so will try and get setup near turn 1. Surprised the track doesn't sell beer - I'll call just to be safe lol.

Yeah, I just can't remember for sure about beer. I know that I ate there both nights and the food was good, but I just can't picture in my mind that there was any area that sold beer. I agree with you that it "seems like they would", so yeah, hopefully you call and they tell you that they do. If not, oh well, just take your own cooler.

The following video shows the track and seating area pretty well, from about the 2:00 minute mark on.

Thanks Again. I did call and from Johnny Stokes himself it is still a Bring-Your-Own-Beer track. Appreciate you providing the video!

When you factor in travel, wear and tear 2 nights could be more profitable than 3.

Looks like a small grandstand at Volunteer in the pictures? Is this true?
