Default Rearend grease leaking out of RR hub

I have a buddy who has a massive oil leak out of the RR hub seal. I’ve seen a clogged breather cause this but that’s not the problem. Only has 4 quarts of grease in it too. Is there an internal seal that needs replaced?

There at least used to be a seal in the end of the rr axle tube. Not sure about the latest and greatest stuff. The old stuff still works from where I stand.

This is an 8 year old Winters rearend so I imagine that falls into old stuff category. Always an easy fix(sarcasm). Thank you

They also make an additional seal assembly that you push into the axle tube from the inside that is meant to help with that

Most use a seal on the inside. Seals oil to center of case only. Seals ride on end of spool just outside bearing cone, installed in sidebell, behind bearing cone.
