Default 08 Mastersbilt drive shaft length

We have 2 08 Mastersbilt cars, one square tube, one round tube. Standard slip yoke Bert trans in both. The square tube is using a 38" drive shaft but a 38 is too long for the round tube. It likes about a 1/4" just getting in the rear end yoke. What could be the difference.

Does the one needing a shorter shaft have a w in the serial number? Wissota cars had different engine setback.

That is it. It does have a W. I wondered about that. Thanks

Is there any other differences on the wissota cars. I was just checking the rear end side to side and it doesn't measure to the book spec.
