General Tire Clash at The MAG Presented by Big River Steel this Weekend
Mega Event Thunders to Life on June 18-20 at Magnolia Motor Speedway

Columbus, Mississippi (June 15, 2020) – Our biggest race week of the year is finally here at Magnolia Motor Speedway! This Thursday-Saturday, June 18 – 20 the annual General Tire Clash at the Mag - Presented by Big River Steel comes to life with three nights of racing featuring the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) going head-to-head.

“We did some work in the off-season to reshape the track, and so far this year the racing has been outstanding,” promoter Johnny Stokes said. “We’ve been getting calls from racers and fans from all over the place, and we can’t wait to have everyone join us this weekend at Magnolia this weekend.”

While not required, the track encourages fans and teams to bring masks and hand sanitizer to this weekend’s events.

Heading into the weekend Tennessee’s Tim McCreadie sits atop the LOLMDS standings as the Midwest Sheet Metal Spoiler Challenge Point Leader. Tim McCreadie, Jonathan Davenport, Tyler Erb, Devin Moran, Kyle Bronson, Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Billy Moyer Jr., Tanner English, Brandon Sheppard, Earl Pearson Jr., Hudson O’Neal, Shanon Buckingham, and Tyler Bruening round out the series Top 15.

Meanwhile, the CCSDS is led into battle by defending series champ, Timothy Culp. The Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man holds a 10-point advantage over Jesse Stovall atop the standings. Logan Martin, Spencer Hughes, Rick Rickman, B.J. Robinson, Robert Baker, Neil Baggett, Kyle Beard, Morgan Bagley, Brian Rickman, Hunter Rasdon, Drew Armstrong, Jon Mitchell, Payton Looney, Joe Godsey, Kaeden Cornell, David Payne and Chad Mallett round out the current Top-20 in the series points.

This weekend in addition to stars on the race track at Magnolia Motor Speedway during the annual General Tire Clash at the Mag - Presented by Big River Steel, there will also be a star on the microphone.

Todd Tilghman, who recently won season 18 of The Voice will be singing the National Anthem on Saturday night.

The pastor, who hails from Meridian, Mississippi, claimed the top honors during the 2020 edition of the hit television show. The 42-year-old was unanimously selected to be on the show via blind auditions, and he ultimately decided to compete on the team coached by Blake Shelton.

The three-day General Tire Clash at the Mag - Presented by Big River Steel kicks off on Thursday, June 18 with a complete $5,000-to-Win LOLMDS / CCSDS program, which will be captured by the MAVTV cameras for a future broadcast. In addition, Thursday night’s program includes the Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman battling in a complete $500-to-win / $50-to-start event. Hot Shots will also contest a complete event, paying $200-to-win/ $50-to-start plus a trophy.

Thursday night’s driver’s meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m.

Action continues on Friday, June 19 with the second round of the General Tire Clash at the Mag - Presented by Big River Steel. The LOLMDS / CCSDS contingent will once again go to battle in another complete $5,000-to-win, MAVTV filmed event. In addition, complete programs are scheduled for the Mississippi Street Stock Series ($1,000-to-win / $75-to-start), Crate Racin’ USA Late Models ($700-to-win / $50-to-start), and Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($400-to-win $50-to-start).

Friday night’s driver’s meeting is slated for 7:00 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m.

The General Tire Clash at the Mag - Presented by Big River Steel earthshaking finale is set for Saturday, June 20. The night’s LOLMDS / CCSDS program is headlined by a $15,000-to-win, 100-lap finale, which will be shown on MAVTV at a later date. Rounding out the program are the MSSS Street Stocks ($1,000-to-win / $75-to-start), Crate Racin’ USA Late Models ($1,000-to-win / $50-to-start), and Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($500-to-win / $50-to-start).

Saturday’s drivers meeting is at 6:30 p.m. with racing action starting at 7:00 p.m.
