ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The 2018 Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS and 19-year-old Carl Kilgore IV of Greenville, MS are tied for the point lead after Week 2 of the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series. Both drivers share the point lead with 100 points.

Idom drove the Tri-State Rock and Rails Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his second win of the season on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS. Kilgore took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS in the Lee’s Body Shop Special.

Landon Jackson and Lee Ray are tied for the third spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock Division National standings with 99 points. Ray picked up the win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Michael Rodrigue is fifth in the Street Stock standings with 97 points after Week 2 action.

Ricky Wrinkle and Billy Walker are tied for the sixth spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock National standings with 96 points apiece. Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS and Mark Thorne are tied for the eighth spot with 95 points apiece. Clayton Kilgore of Greenville, MS rounds out the top ten with 92 points.

Also taking Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock Week 2 wins were Chad Robinson on Friday night at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and Keenan Vandygriff won on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summerville, TN. Austin Moye was the winner on Saturday night at Tri-County Speedway in Flomaton, AL and Jimmy Nolen took the win on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.

Also winning Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock Week 2 races were Chris Keller at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA, Race McMahon at Deep South Speedway, Gary Tucker at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, and Sam Hughes at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL.

All Tech Speedway in Lake City, FL and Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, SC were both rained out for Saturday night Newsome Raceway Parts Street Stock Week 2 action.
