ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Ryan King of Anniston, AL drove the David King Automotive Special to his third Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in Week 3 competition.

King is the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman National point leader with 150 points, and a one-point advantage over Brett White of Kosciusko, MS. White has 149 points after a second-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Attala Steel Rocket.

Morgen Lambert of Booneville, MS is third in the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman standings with 147 points after a win on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL driving the 72 Collision and Auto Service Special. Blake Ray of Russellville, AL is fourth in the standings with 141 points.

Third-generation driver Ryan Wilson of Margaret, AL is tied for the fifth spot in the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman standings. Wilson is the son of the very first Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Champion Jason Wilson, who won the title in 2006. Wilson is tied with Sherman Everette of Morris, AL at 140 points apiece.

Sam Ramsey and Levi Aldridge of Double Springs, AL are tied for the seventh spot in the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 139 points apiece. Tony Chaney of Tuscumbia, AL is ninth with 137 points, and Austin Steele of Moulton, AL rounds out the top ten with 136 points.

Chris Hough opened up the Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Sportsman Week 3 action with a win on Friday night at Talladega Short Track. Tyler Burgess topped a 25-car field on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Buddy George of Ragland, AL took a $1,000 win on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL in the TCB Extreme Enterprises Special.

Colton Leyendecker took a 40-point win on Saturday night at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and Colton Roberts was a 40-point winner on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN. Camden Speedway in Camden, TN was rained out on Saturday night. Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL did not report their Friday and Saturday night results.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
