Kyle Beard Scores Summer Shootout Win at Poplar Bluff
COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Four-Race Weekend Up Next

TRUMANN, Ark. (06/30/20) – Friday night found Kyle Beard picking up his first Super Late Model win of the 2020 campaign with a triumph in the Summer Shootout at Missouri’s Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park. The victory, which came aboard his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Mann Motorsports / Black Diamond Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine, brought his total win total across all divisions to four for the year.

“We’ve been good in the Modified so far this year, but we’ve been a little off in the Late Model. Thankfully, we finally put a whole night together on Friday at Poplar Bluff,” Beard said. “We had a lot of family and friends there with us and that made the night even more enjoyable.”

Beard made the trek on Friday evening to Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park (Poplar Bluff, Mo.), where he was competing in both the Super Late Model and Modified divisions. In the Super Late Model ranks he led every lap of his heat race and his feature to score the $1,000 win. Robby Moore, Chris Jones, Scott Tracer, and Adam Elliott completed the Top-5 finishers.

After winning his heat race in the Mann Motorsports No. 86 Modified, Kyle started fourth on the feature grid for the $1,000-to-win feature. He went on to advance to a runner-up finish behind Shawn Knuckles with Brandon Walsh, Austin Rettig and Chad Tilley completing the Top 5.

The team now turns their attention to a four-race weekend with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). The inaugural Four-For-Four Firecracker Nationals spans July 1-4 and includes four events with each finale paying $4,000-to-win. Action opens on Wednesday at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) before shifting to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Thursday evening. Friday takes the tour to Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) before drawing to a close on Saturday at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana).

The Mark Martin Automotive Challenge is also part of the weekend. If a driver can win all four events, he’ll receive a $10,000 bonus, and a win in three of the races posts a $5,000 bonus.

Entering the weekend Kyle is currently ninth in the latest series standings. For more information on the events, please visit www.COMPdirt.com .
