Drake Troutman Tops Modified Field at Roaring Knob
Looks Ahead to Weekend Tripleheader

HYNDMAN, Pa. (07/09/20) – Drake Troutman parked his Smith Transport No. 7 RFI Resources/ MB Customs Modified in Victory Lane for the second straight week on Sunday night.

“It was an up and down weekend to say the least,” noted Troutman. “We had a solid start on Friday night at Bedford and then some tough luck at Cumberland on Saturday. More bad luck on Sunday in the Late Model but we were able to get it done in the Modified. Our MB Customs/ LaSalle’s Racing Engine Modified ran flawless once again. Thanks to everyone for their continued support. Hopefully we can get this monkey off our back this weekend.”

Troutman visited Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) on Friday evening to kick off a busy weekend, pulling double duty for the Milt Miller Tribute. Sporting a new wrap in honor of Tom Gill, Troutman earned the 22nd-starting position for the $3,000-to-win Late Model feature via preliminary events. After wheeling his way up to 12th before blowing a right-rear tire, Drake rebounded from the tail of the field to finish sixth.

In his Modified, Drake advanced forward from his eighth-starting position in the feature to battle for the win in the closing laps. After getting penalized a row for apparently jumping the start following a caution, Troutman salvaged a runner-up finish behind Michael Altobelli with Evan Taylor, Alyssa Rowe, and Derek Deusenberry rounding out the Top-5.

On Saturday night at Cumberland Raceway (Cumberland, Md.) in a field of 22 Mid Atlantic Modifieds, Drake secured his spot into the main event with a third-place finish in his heat. After running inside the Top-5 for the majority of the race, Troutman broke a driveshaft that sidelined him for the remainder of the evening.

Competing in his Late Model and Modified on Sunday at Roaring Knob Motorsports Park (Markleysburg, Pa.), Troutman suffered a broken birdcage in the Ultimate Northeast Series sanctioned A-Main that forced him to retire early.
In his Modified, Drake rolled to his fifth win of the season in the feature.

Troutman has another busy slate ahead this weekend. He’ll return to Bedford Speedway on Friday to compete in the Super Late Model ranks. On Saturday, the action shifts to Winchester (Va.) Speedway for a $1,000-to-win event for Modifieds. Drake will wrap up the weekend by once again pulling double duty at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.
