Conley Motorsports, Inc. Gears Up for Weekend Specials at Portsmouth and Atomic

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Brothers Rod and R.J. Conley were busy over the Independence Day holiday weekend (July 2-4) in special events across the states of Kentucky and Ohio. At Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Thursday night, a $5,000 top prize was on the line in the track's season opening event. R.J. grabbed the second transfer spot through his heat race before winding up sixteenth in the final finishing order of the 50-lap headliner due to an oil line coming off his #71c ride. Rod, on the other hand, qualified well before finishing seventh in his heat race and third in his B-Main - unfortunately keeping the Wheelersburg, Ohio ace out of the main event at the Cincinnati-area facility.

"Hot Rod" and his #71r team then traveled alone to Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio on Friday evening for a $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throwdown. He once again narrowly missed out on the 50-lap feature after running seventh in his stacked heat race and fourth in his B-Main. Another $12,000 winner's check was up for grabs with the LOLMDS on Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. While Rod unfortunately did not transfer into the main event again, R.J. placed fifth in his heat race, second in the B-Main, and twenty-third in the 'Independence 50' after experiencing overheating issues. Complete results from the hectic holiday weekend can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.florencespeedway.com.

Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) has a pair of area events on their racing calendar over the July 10-11 weekend. While J.T. Conley is slated to take another weekend off from racing action, Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley will all be in competition later tonight, July 10 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio in the 3rd Annual ‘Dean Knittel Memorial,’ which pays $3,654 to win for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. On Saturday evening, July 11, all three CMI pilots will venture north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for the $2,500 to win ‘Freedom 40.’ More information on both of these specials can be viewed by clicking on www.portsraceway.com and www.atomicspeedway.net.
