CCSDS Returns to the Grind with Double Header Weekend
Batesville Motor Speedway and Legit Speedway Park Host Doubleheader

Little Rock, Arkansas (07/27/20) – As the summer heat continues to build, so does the battle for 2020 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil Super Late Model championship.

This weekend – July 31 – August 1 – the pursuit of the title takes the series’ competitors to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) and Legit Speedway Park (West Plains, Missouri).

West Plains, Missouri racer, Logan Martin sits atop the latest series’ standings as the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man. Martin holds a 56-point lead over the current Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year point leader, Spencer Hughes, who resides in the second position in the overall standings. Defending CCSDS Champion, Timothy Culp sits 80 points back in the third spot.

B.J. Robinson, Rick Rickman, Neil Baggett, Morgan Bagley, Brian Rickman, Drew Armstrong, Jon Mitchell, Hunter Rasdon, Kyle Beard, Joe Godsey, David Payne and Jesse Stovall round out the current Top 15 in the standings.

With Hughes leading the way in the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle, Drew Armstrong and Joe Godsey look to make up ground in the competition this weekend.

Thus far into 2020 there have been 12 different winners in the first 15 CCSDS events. Only Timothy Culp, Spencer Hughes and Jimmy Owens have visited Victory Lane more than once this year. Each of the drivers has two wins to their credit.

On Friday, July 31 the tour rolls into Mooney Starr’s Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) for a $3,000-to-win / $400-to-start event, which will serve as a tune-up for the upcoming 28th Annual COMP Cams Topless 100. IMCA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Cruisers will also be on the night’s racing card.

Hot laps are at 7:30 pm. with racing action at 8:00 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with children (ages 11-and-under) free. Pit admission is $35.

The night’s event, which is presented by Don’s Auto Service and Holiday Inn Express & Suites of West Plains, pays tribute to the late racer, who is an inductee into both the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. The Missouri racer, who passed away in 2004, won the NASCAR Weekly Series National Championship a record-setting five times. His list of accomplishments encompassed both the dirt and asphalt racing worlds.
