Satterlee Goes Two-for-Two at BAPS Motor Speedway
Pair of United Late Model Series Events Up Next

INDIANA, Pa. (07/30/20) – Gregg Satterlee grabbed his second win in as many weeks at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pa. on Saturday.

Satterlee entered central Pennsylvania oval looking for redemption after terminal issues while running inside the Top-5 at Trail-Way Speedway the night before sidelined him from that event.

Piloting the Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing/ Valvoline/ Classic Ink/ Rocket Chassis, Gregg rolled to a $4,000 victory in the Creekside Auto Sales Smokey Frye Classic.

“You never want to go through that, breaking a motor, but I guess that’s part of it,” Satterlee said. “But we got to regroup and got our other car and came back, and we were good again.”

Satterlee was one of 31 Zimmer’s United Late Model Series entries on hand at Trail-Way Speedway (Hanover, Pa.) on Friday afternoon for the inaugural Junior Eckert Memorial.

After laying down the fastest lap in his time trial group, Satterlee scored a runner-up finish in his scramble behind Ross Robinson. With $6,000 on the line in the feature, Gregg retired from the 50-lapper on lap 16 while running in fourth.

On Saturday afternoon at BAPS Motor Speedway, Gregg followed up the fastest time in his qualifying group with a 10-lap heat race victory to earn the pole position for the feature. With Gene Knaub blasting into the lead on the opening lap, Satterlee slid ahead two laps later to regain the top spot.

Holding off the field after a handful of cautions, Satterlee rolled to his second straight win at the 4/10-mile oval to pick up the $4,000 payday along with a $1,000 bonus from Bernheisel Race Components for back-to-back victories. Taking the checkers ahead of Rick Eckert, Knaub, Wyatt Scott, and Coleby Frye, Satterlee tallied his fifth win of the year.

“The longer we went, the better we got, and I could find the cleaner part of the racetrack,” Satterlee said. “We just never cleaned up down here and kind of struggled in one and two the whole race, but I was able to get out front right off the bat, and that helped.”

“We made some changes before the feature and tried a couple of things we never tried here and had to run certain tires, but I guess all-in-all, it worked out. We ended up where we needed to.”
