For the majority of the dirt racing world it's still a hobby. When is the last time anyone went hunting or fishing and expected to make money unless your doing it for a living. Last I looked a new bass boat is 40-70 grand for top of the line stuff but people still spend it just to go have fun. So not far off for what we spend on top of the line stuff in our hobby. For what people are spending on a weekend hobby nowadays since a large percentage can't make or fix anything on the car but they can just order a new one how can most people expect to make money at this especially for the local weekend racer. There can only be one guy holding the big check at the end of the night. Go into racing like entering into a casino, only take as much in as you plan to lose. It all comes down to how much do you want to spend to have a good time.

Yep, after an 8 year hiatus, we decided to get a 602 dlm due to the fact there are plenty of those type of cars in our area and usually a race every week at various tracks, and oh yeah....the cost! lol

Here is a list of how much we've spent so far:

2015 Rocket bg, 3 race old Hendren 602, new Bilstein shocks, nice raceready car , $16,000
2007 S&S 30' enclosed trailer, had to build rampovers, $7,000
New sides on body, garage accessories, trailer accessories, pit accessories, spare parts, $5,000

Definitely not cheap, but for a dlm pretty realistic!
