Dennis Erb, Jr. Back on Summer Nationals Trail this Week Following USA Nationals

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing invaded the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from August 6-8 to compete in the 33rd edition of the storied 'USA Nationals,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. On Thursday night in the $6,000 to win preliminary program, Dennis Erb, Jr. fired off the third quickest time in Group B during the qualifying session before running second in his loaded heat race. After starting from the inside of the third row in the 30-lap sprint and battling hard for a top five showing, Dennis was eventually awarded a steady seventh place effort against the strong field of competitors.

At Cedar Lake on Friday evening in the double set of qualifying heat races, Dennis won his first prelim of the night, but later suffered motor issues in his second heat race, which dropped him to a ninth place finish. After running fifth in his B-Main on Saturday, Dennis won the Last Chance Qualifier to earn the inside of the twelfth row for the start of the $50,000 to win 'USA Nationals.' The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was steadily moving forward in the 100-lap grind before front end damage caused him to slow on lap 56 to draw a caution. Dennis eventually retired from the crown jewel headliner in the twenty-first position and still finds himself sixth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. Full results from the lucrative weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.

With the World of Outlaws sitting idle this week, the #28 team will take the opportunity to jump back on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals trail in six events across the states of Illinois and Missouri from August 11-16. Action on the “Hell Tour” will kick off later tonight, August 11 at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois. From there, Dennis will compete on Wednesday at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois, on Thursday in the annual ‘Herald & Review 100’ at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, on Friday at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, on Saturday at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, and on Sunday at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois.

Dennis has twenty-three career DIRTcar Summer Nationals triumphs – good for eighth all-time on the wins list – and is a three-time Champion (2007-2009) on the grueling “Hell Tour.” You can watch each night of racing action LIVE on DIRTVision or you can keep up by logging onto www.dirtcarsummernationals.com.
