Ray Cook Claims Second Win of 2020 Campaign at Dixie; Visit to 411 Ahead!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing ventured to the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, August 8 and was able to put their Capital racecar in victory lane for the second time in 2020! Ray Cook stopped the clock fifth quickest overall during the qualifying session to earn the inside of the third row for the start of the 30-lap main event. During the course of the unsanctioned contest, Ray blasted to the front early, took the point around the lap ten mark, and drove to the $2,000 payday by besting T.J. Reaid, Jason Croft, Justin Shipley, and Austin Smith! Complete results from last Saturday at Dixie Speedway can be accessed online at www.dixiespeedway.com.

“We haven’t really been able to race a lot due to COVID and our promoting responsibilities with the Southern Nationals and Tri-County Race Track, but I feel like we have a good piece to work with if we could ever string some races together and get more laps,” quoted Cook this week. “Hopefully we will be able to do just that during the month of August before our Fall Nationals schedule heats up. I have to thank all of my sponsors and product help for all of their support, along with the crew for their hard work and dedication!”

The #53 team will be back at it again this weekend in a racing trip to the Volunteer State of Tennessee. Ray plans to sling dirt next on Saturday, August 15 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee. A rare unsanctioned Super Late Model contest will be held at 411 tomorrow and a $3,000 top prize will be on the line.
