ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman point leader Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL drove the East Alabama Truck Repair Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Hiett and seven of top ten in the National point standings, including the top six, reached the 11-week mark of their respective seasons in Week 11 competition, and will now begin to net points by replacing the lowest weekly point total of their best 11 with a higher one.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count their best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.

Hiett leads the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman National standings with a best 11-week total of 544 points and he will be trying to net on a 47 in future races. Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN is second with a best 11-week total of 530 points and he will be trying to net on a 45.

The defending Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National Champion Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is third in the National standings with a best 11-week total of 521 points. Riddle will be trying to net on a 41. Riddle drove the Morgan Machine Special with a Chevrolet Performance 602 to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL.

Jamie Gowers of Vincent, AL is fourth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with a best 11-week total of 497 points and he will be trying to net on a 41. Paul Poe of Ragland, AL is fifth with a best 11-week total of 469 points and he will be trying to net on a 41. Blake Swann of Anniston, AL is sixth with a best 11-week total of 466 points and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Tim Staples of Pell City, AL is seventh in the National standings with 465 points and he still has one more week to earn full points before reaching the 11-week mark of his 2020 season. Tracy Terrell is eighth with 464 points and he has one more week to earn full points.

Josh Salisbury is ninth with a best 11-week total of 463 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. Ron Bailey of Harvest, AL rounds out the top-ten in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman standings with 444 points, and he still has one more week to earn full points.

Week 11 had a limited schedule of events for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman with just three races. Rex Berry of Huntingdon, TN drove the 22 Auto Salvage Special to victory on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.
