ADAIRSVILLE, GA - Week 14 of the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman season will feature four races in two different states being contested over two days during the Labor Day Holiday weekend. That will give title contending drivers three opportunities to net points on their best 11-week totals.

There will be two races on Saturday night of the Week 14 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman schedule and with the holiday weekend, there will be two races on Sunday night.

Saturday night races are scheduled for ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL and North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. The Sunday night races will be at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The thoughts and prayers of the competitors, officials, track operators, sponsors, and fans of Crate Racin’ USA are with the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman point leader Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL who is battling the COVID 19 virus. Hiett has a best 11-week total of 544 points, and he will be trying to net on a 47 when he returns to action.

Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN is second in the Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman standings with a best 11-week total of 534 points, and he will be trying to net on a 47. The defending Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National Champion Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is third with a best 11-week total of 530 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Tim Staples of Pell City, AL is fourth with a best 11-week total of 512 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. Tracy Terrell is fifth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with a best 11-week total of 509 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. Jamie Gowers of Vincent, AL is sixth with a best 11-week total of 505 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Ron Bailey of Harvest, AL holds the seventh spot in the Modified Sportsman standings with a best 11-week total of 485 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. Russellville, AL drivers Darren Jewell and Cody Howard are tied for the eighth spot in the standings, as each driver has a best 11-week total of 479 points. Jewell will be trying to net on a 41, and Howard will be trying to net on a 25.

Paul Poe of Ragland, AL rounds out the Top 10 in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman National standings with an 11-week total of 471 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count their best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
