We are speechless in so many ways. Speechless about the complete nightmare that no one ever anticipated. Speechless about the incredible amount of support from not only friends and family, but the racing community and even complete strangers. Speechless about the fact that we were unexpectedly discharged today directly from the pediatric intensive care unit to go home. The burn team trained us on how to clean and redress the burns and hope that the healing will thrive in his own comfortable environment. We will go back for weekly checks by the burn team for follow up care. Lennox has always been a tough cookie, but to be life flighted to the hospital, sedated for 2 days on a ventilator, and feeding tube with second degree burns to the head, face, neck, and hand to be discharged in 4 days is just completely breath taking. As we travel home with our sweet boy to tackle the next chapter of this adventure I cannot help but cry. Cry tears of happiness, cry tears of fear of going home, cry tears of shock of the support we are receiving and cry because although we are living our worst nightmare, in all reality it could have been so much worse. So thank you. Thank you to my husband for running through flames to save our baby and ripping the shirt off your back to put him out. Thank you for all of the prayers near and far, please keep them coming as our journey has ways to go. Thank you to everyone that helped in any way, shape, or form you are not unnoticed. We will continue to update you throughout our journey and apologize if you have reached out and have not gotten a response.
