All the engine builders use multiple aftermarket parts, one bad batch of any component and you have failures before the culprit is detected.

I don’t know how teams can afford those motors. Seems like 2020 surely there would be a better way when it comes to motor production.

Would be disappointing having to go to I-80 next for 3 days.

There's no "bad batch of a certain component" anymore. Valve springs is a maybe, but that can/should be caught before any repeated disasters. With today's valve spring tech, and the fact that they're not beating on springs like say, Pro Stock, there's not much else to fail. These engines are not "pushing the limit" like some think. Keep the harmonics at bay, and 500-700 laps should be no problem if maintenance is halfway decent. Somebody F'd up!

Your comparing a pro stk motor to a dirt track build ? Really. How many nights do you think they run a motor before getting it freshened up ? Your 500 to 700 laps is a stretch also. Valve springs is a maybe, Yea I guess so, after it's to late.

Beginning of the year Clements has a bad run of new rods, we’re cracking in the thread holes, lost a few motors and then made good on a lot of rods for Their customers

cool, humid and wfo arent a great combo for a 9000 rpm engine. Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) said they turned the fuel pressure up for some insurance, most these guys cant hardly change their own plugs so they dont know what to do on timing and fuel with changing weather and tracks so they burn them down with a standard tune

Andy Durham had to pull several of his engines due to a manufacturer defect last year at Golden Isle.
