Ray Cook Racing Starts Preparing for King of the Mountain All Star Championship

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing was back in action for the first time since late August on Saturday night, October 3 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee. The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series rolled into the Volunteer State oval and a strong field of 36 competitors piled into the pit area to do battle in the $10,000 to win throwdown.

Ray Cook showed up late to the track and stopped the clock thirteenth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session (in his first laps of the evening) prior to placing sixth in his loaded heat race and fourth in his B-Main. The Brasstown, North Carolina standout then rolled off from the inside of the twelfth row before winding up nineteenth in the final finishing order of the 50-lap headliner. Full results from 411 Motor Speedway can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

With tomorrow’s annual ‘Dixie Shootout’ at Dixie (GA) Speedway already succumbing to inclement weather, Ray plans to take the October 9-11 weekend off from racing action. The #53 team will be prepping their equipment for their next races; however, as they are slated to tackle Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on October 16-17. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) will preside over a pair of shootouts at Smoky Mountain, as a $3,000 top prize will be on the line in Friday’s opener and a $7,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs in Saturday’s doubleheader finale.
