Rod Conley Rallies to Fourth in Eastern Fall Nationals; R.J. Conley Gets Ready for DTWC

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley all found themselves back in the pit area at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening, October 3 for the 'Eastern Fall Nationals.' The special event for the DIRTcar Super Late Models paid out a $5,000 top prize. Rod Conley wound up with the best finish for Conley Motorsports, Inc., as the Wheelersburg, Ohio ace finished third in his heat race prior to moving up inside of the top five in the headliner. After a hard tire selection caused him to fade early in the distance, "Hot Rod" charged all the way up to fourth by the unfurling of the checkered flag to finish behind only victor Colten Burdette, Steve Casebolt, and Tyler Carpenter!

His Hall of Fame father Delmas Conley was not far behind, as he also ran third in his heat race before starting and finishing seventh in the 'Eastern Fall Nationals.' R.J. Conley secured a triumph in his heat race and later started the A-Main from the outside of the front row. R.J. was then in the second spot early in the contest, but suffered motor problems that caused him to retire in the twentieth position. Complete results from the former K-C Raceway can be accessed online at www.atomicspeedway.net.

The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams are scheduled to enjoy the October 9-11 weekend off from racing action. Their next scheduled event will be the 40th Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship’ at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 16-17. With Rod’s son playing high school football that weekend; however, R.J. will be the lone CMI driver in action during the crown jewel extravaganza. Preliminary action for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie will take place next Friday night, while Saturday’s 100-lap DTWC will once again boast a gargantuan $100,000 payday.
