Lucrative Bill Corum Memorial at Tazewell Speedway Announced for Easter Weekend 2021

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) While the entire Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series schedule for 2021 is not quite complete and ready to release to the public, the crown jewel event for the Ray Cook-promoted miniseries is set in stone for Saturday, April 3. The inaugural running of the ‘Bill Corum Memorial’ will take place over Easter weekend 2021 at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. The single-day program at “The Taz,” which will be co-sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series, will boast a whopping $21,000 top prize and will pay $1,000 just to start the 75-lap headliner.

The ‘Bill Corum Memorial’ was on the 2020 schedule for the Spring Nationals tour, but the entire ten-race miniseries was unfortunately wiped out due to COVID-19. The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series has visited Tazewell Speedway in two prior years, as Billy Ogle, Jr. scored a $6,000 win back in 2015 and Dakotah Knuckles secured a $5,000 triumph in 2018. More details on the ‘Bill Corum Memorial’ will be released in the upcoming months, but be sure to mark the April 3 date on your calendar to be a part of this mega-event.

The 2021 season will mark the 16th year for the Gary Hall-promoted venue that sits in the heart of East Tennessee and the $21,000 to win ‘Bill Corum Memorial’ will go down in history as the largest paying single-day event in the track’s storied history. The last major show of this caliber at Tazewell Speedway was back on the 4th of July weekend in 2011 when Chris Madden claimed a World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory worth a hefty $20,000 payday. More information on the 1/3-mile, high-banked dirt oval located near the Tennessee-Kentucky border can be found online at www.TazewellSpeedway.net.
