Yes, and Linville was also complaining of a headache after the race
-
I'm surprised there aren't more concussions in these cars.

Heard Josh went to the hospital, one of my friends talked to him, had possibly a minor concussion. His memory of the night was spotty at best.

On a rough track, these containment seats make your head a pinball. They will save you in a rare event they are needed, but they are doing you minor harm every week.

^^^^^ right on. Containment seats are good for hard side impact or roll overs. On a ruff track they do more damage than a lot realize.

2019 I drove a crate car for a gentlemen almost every weekend. previous years had been in my own modified, both with full containment seats.
I drove the crate on a smooth racetrack 99.9% mind you, i had a headache for days afterward, every week-weekend.
After measuring the head restraint portion, the crate car was a tighter fit to helmet side by side by 2.5" over my modified.
Never had an issue in modified unless on an extremely rough racetrack.
things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

Your neck has evolved to be the correct decelerator for your head, unless the deceleration is too much for it to take. So, your head not touching any hard surfaces is best under normal operation. I'm not sure if your head fitting tight, wouldn't be best, if the material against your helmet was force damping. Something has to decel your head so your brain doesn't bounce off your skull. Unfortunately, the rules makers force you to put that hard surface next to your head and they wash their hands after that.

Today's head restraint systems are a life saver. Today's containment seats, as a few have said, do not give and your brain is bouncing around within your skull. Personally I think the stiff head supports attached to the seats needs to be looked at by all the major sanctioning bodies
