Showdown at Senoia (Make-Up Date) Schedule and Plan Announced

Senoia Raceway is preparing for the completion of this year’s Showdown at Senoia on Saturday, November 21st. The year end culmination was cut short by weather last month and the remaining events that were postponed will be run entirely on Saturday, November 21st. The track has also scheduled an open practice for the night before to help teams get reacclimated to the unique gumbo clay surface.

Saturday night’s Showdown at Senoia will include the Schaeffer’s Oil Fall National Series Super Late Models headlining with the running of the Billy Clanton Classic. The special race honoring the hall of fame driver has been previously won by Shane Clanton (Billy’s son) in 2015 and 2016; Brandon Sheppard in 2017; Chris Madden in 2018 and Ashton Winger took home the victory last year.

The Crate Late Models will also be competing along with the Red Clay Series (Late Model 602 Sportsman), Southern Outlaw Hobby Series, Mini Stock, Chargers and Hot Shots. The Red Clay Series race will be racing for their series season championship and the Southern Outlaw Hobby Series race will honor longtime racing fan and crew member Zach Jones with the running of the ‘Big Money 40’ paying the richest purse for the Hobby division in track history.

“It is a big weekend of racing for Senoia Raceway,” said promoter Mayes Massey. “We pray that mother nature gives us better weather this time around.”

Considering all of the racing that is scheduled to be completed on Saturday, November 21st, the track has changed it’s gate times and starting times. The pits and trackside parking will now open at 10am. The grandstand gate will open at noon. The driver’s meeting is slated to begin at 12:30pm with hot laps, qualifying and racing scheduled to begin at 1pm.

The Crate Late Models, Southern Outlaw Hobby, Red Clay Series (602 Late Model Sportsman), Mini Stock, Chargers and Hot Shots will complete their hot laps, qualifying, complete any heat races scheduled and B-Main or Last Chance qualifiers prior to reworking the track around 5pm. During the track prep break, the track will award it’s season points awards along with honoring the top drivers in the Five Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Warner Robins Gumbo Series.

The entire Super Late Model show (qualifying, heats, b-main and feature) and feature races for the other divisions will take place after the completion of the track prep and awards ceremonies beginning around 6pm.

Weekend Schedule / Gate Times / Pit Pass & Ticket Prices:
Friday, November 20 – Open Practice (ALL DIVISIONS WELCOME)
Gates Open at 4pm. Practice from 6pm to 9pm.
Pit Passes are $20. Grandstand admission is free.

Saturday, November 21 – Showdown at Senoia
Pit Gates / Trackside Parking opens at 10am. Grandstands open at noon. Drivers meeting at 12:30pm. Hot laps, qualifying and racing scheduled to begin at 1pm. Track prep / Awards Ceremony at 5pm. Super Late Model show and features to follow immediately.
Pit Pass: $40 (adult); $20 (kids 5-12)
Grandstand: $25 (adult); 12 & under are FREE
