Default Thanksgiving Night Won't Be The Same......

Our tradition of the past few years has been to gobble leftovers and watch the Turkey Night Grand Prix on Thanksgiving Night in lieu of watching overpaid crybaby/thug NFL games. TNGP has been held at Ventura Raceway the past few years and has turned out to be some of the best racing of the year. Especially when Larson and Bell have slugged it out (which seems like every year) for the 98 laps that make up the TNGP A-main.

We had plans to go to out west for the Hangtown and then stay around for Turkey Night but the virus changed all those plans! Dammit!!

Turkey Night was run at Perris Auto Speedway several year prior to moving to Ventura and we were lucky enough to attend the 2012 TNGP at Perris, which was Kyle Larson's first TNGP win!

Here's a picture of the San Bernardino mountains to the east of Perris Auto Speedway as seen from our seats in the Perris grandstands. So-Cal is a very beautiful place, especially for us flatlanders from the Midwest! Spectacularly beautiful.

Go visit. It's a very, very cool and beautiful place if you stay out of L.A, San Francisco and Sacramento. Go during the month of November when there is no pandemic going on and take in the Hangtown at Placerville and Turkey Night at Ventura. You won't regret it.

I have been all through Cali. Beautiful state geographically but a trash dump of politics.

I've spent a lot of time in California and not once did the politics deter in the least from the beauty of the whole state or the quality of the racing at places like Placerville, Ventura, Calistoga, Bakersfield and Perris. Give it a try in November, you'll be glad you did!
