Democracy: a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

    it's still a great system.

The dirtiest of the dems are gonna squirm a little, can't say it won't be a little satisfying.

Liberals weren't educated well enough to know that we live in a Constitutional Republic.

It's a difference in degrees. We don't live in a direct democracy, true, but our representatives are democratically elected. A constitutional republic is a form of democracy.

Agreed. It seems that liberals oftentimes feel like they can trample on the Constitution though, and that it's all about mob rule.

The Founding Fathers weren't paragons of virtue. They were slave owners. They thought the only people that could be trusted with voting were white men who owned land. The United States is a lot more democratic today than it was when it was founded, and that's a good thing. It's not as democratic as it should be and it's not the most democratic country in the world.

Patriots feel like it's the best country in the world, and there are plenty of countries for those that prefer socialism. Those in socialist countries want to be here. Regarding voting procedure, people who contribute nothing and who have nothing to lose should not dictate policy. That's just common sense. Families that have worked hard and saved for generations should not be expected to carry those that won't work or who squander what they earn. You reap what you sow.

How many Scandinavians and Germans have been flocking to the United States in the past couple decades?

The Founding Fathers were flawed individuals, just like the rest of us. What was progressive 200+ years ago isn't progressive today.

When they were "progressives" they were interested in building up and improving things and rewarding hard work. The "progressives" of today seem to believe in destroying things and rewarding sloth.

Nah, that's a myth. The Founding Fathers were just concerned about protecting aristocratic society. Progressives today are working to make sure that every citizen has a voice. The constitution as written was to give power to a minority of the population.

Not at all, it applies to everyone. Everyone currently has the opportunity to work and benefit from it.. When that incentive is taken away it's unsustainable and you will only have a ruling class and serfs.

The first two amendments are crucial where freedom is concerned and "progressives" are attacking both.

You got to be kidding. Get your head out of your butt. BTW the minorities that the constitution protects is the fly over states.

Minorites suffer when Dems are in charge. Dems are owned by wall street, silicon valley, China and the media. The rich get richer and more people go on food stamps. Just the way Dems want it. Keep them down, blame conservatives with the help of the lying media and promise them good times. Cycle is now in session. Don't believe me, watch what happens the next four years. Every thing that happens will be Trumps fault. Ignorant poor fools will believe it.

One thing is certain, this admin. will be a disaster. Can't miss. Don't believe me? Just watch.

Flyover states weren't a thing when the Constitution was written. The Constitution was written to protect the lower population slave states in the south because there was a fear they wouldn't join the Union if they weren't protected from the higher population anti-slavery states.

We have historical documents from that time period, including their writings. It doesn't require any divination on our part.
