    Thumbs up Bristol Dirt Nationals - - - - - Safety Update

    Required Personal Safety Equipment – All Classes
    • Snell SA2010, SA2015, SA 2020 or FIA 8860 Certified Helmet - in good condition
    • SFI 3.2A Fire retardant suit required – clean and in good condi3on
    • SFI 3.3 Fire retardant gloves required – clean and in good condition
    • SFI 3.3 Fire retardant racing shoes – clean and in good condi3on
    • SFI 38.1 Head and neck restraint device – in good condition and in date
    Required Car Safety Equipment – All Classes except as noted
    • Full Containment Stock Car Seat – mounted properly as per manufacturer’s recommenda3ons. Must be affixed to roll cage.
    • SFI 16.1 Driver Restraint System (Minimum 5 point) – clean and in good condition / mounted properly as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Must be affixed to roll cage. Must be within 3 years of manufacture date.
    • SFI 27.1 or 37.1 Window Net / Roll Cage Net – mounted properly as per manufacturer’s recommenda3ons for Stock Cars and Compacts.
    • Quality-built and undamaged roll cage as prescribed by sanctioning body. Minimum 0.065” thick-walled tubing. Installation and workmanship must be acceptable to officials.

    SAFETY CHECK LIST
    Cage should be welded to chassis at multiple points. Welds should be complete and circumferential. No square tubing in main cage.
    • Fuel Tank steel skid plate securely affixed which covers tank is required for compacts.
    • Fuel cells must be mounted securely with a minimum of 2 metal straps attached with 1⁄2
    inch bolts. Cells must be in a steel can.
    • Must have a protective screen or bars in front window opening in front of driver’s face.
    Required Safety Standards – All Classes
    • Batteries must be mounted with brackets and positive fasteners
    • Fuel lines, cells/tanks must be completely shielded from driver. Lines may be run
    through metal conduit. No fuel filters within driver compartment.
    • Sharp edges should be removed or covered wherever possible.
    • Seats should be mounted so that no part of driver helmet is above the cage halo at any point.
    • RaceCeiver or like one-way driver radio device – mandatory at all times on track. Recommended Safety Equipment – All Classes except as noted
    • SFI 3.3 Fire retardant underwear
    • SFI 3.3 Fire retardant socks

    SAFETY CHECK LIST
    • SFI 17.1 On-board fire suppression system
    • SFI 27.1 or 37.1 Window Net / Roll Cage Net – mounted properly as per
    manufacturer’s recommendations for all Late Model and Modified classes.
    • Battery disconnect
