Those who are familiar with the Central Illinois short track stock car racing scene are mourning the passing of Frank Shickel Sr. of Bloomington, Illinois.

Rest in peace and may God Bless and comfort all who loved Mr. Shickel.

Is this Junior Shickles dad? I remember back in 2006 I think he was the first one in line for the World 100 when I pulled in at 10a.m. Thursday.

Was never a fan of the Shickel clan, but you can not argue, he was one of the best to roll around the IL tracks in his time. Watched him battle my favorite driver and win his fair share of those battles. RIP SR.
