    Default Bristol Motor Speedway Noise

Just bought tickets for the Dirt Nationals in March and was curious of the noise levels at BMS. I know they call it Thunder Valley for a reason as I’ve heard when NASCAR runs there, the place echos and enhances it. How was it when supers were there before? Maybe silly, but I’ve seen my dad pay the price now for all his years of going to the track and working on race cars without proper hearing protection. Finally convinced him to go and and get hearing aids last year.

I was in the infield during the asphalt modified races and it was painful. Seriously. I couldn't get ear plugs fast enough. Since then, I've bought the moldable kind. They're pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

I work on a cup team. At least from the infield it is very very loud. Bring some kind of ear protection.

I used to always wear the old fashioned ear muff FM radios at the NASCAR races there, and it was still so loud you couldn't hear the radio even turned all the way up. I would definitely wear ear plus at minimum.

The noise levels in 2000 and 2001 were akin to Eldora, it wasn't any more noisy than a normal big race.

I wear ear plugs at every race I go to. Bristol is the loudest place I have been to. I usually have ear plugs and headphones on there.

Loudest place I ever experienced was at Bulls Gap in the infield when supers ran. Actually painful. I had no earplugs, so I stuck cig butts in my ears. Hey it worked!!

I used ear plugs in 2000. Never use them at any other tracks.

When they used to fire up a dragster inside the bowl before a cup race it was deafening
