Bubba Pollard is off to a bit of a slow start it seems. Finch had to go to his backup car after night one. Must be nice to have a backup car in asphalt super late model ranks.

Very sadly and horribly, a track official has lost his life after being involved in breaking up an altercation between a couple race teams. Rusty Crews was a long time tech official at NSS and he was trying to break up the second (of the night) altercation between the race teams of Brian Kruczek and Matthew Green in the Sportsman Division.

According to multiple sources Crews attempted to break up the fight and was knocked unconscious. He regained consciousness but later died overnight. Unsure at this time if underlying conditions contributed.

RIP Rusty Crews, you didn't deserve this from the sport you obviously loved. For all those who still think pit fights are cool and settling things the old way is the way to do things, this might want to get some to reconsider. For sure this was an unintended consequence of the worst kind but racing does not need this kind of publicity.
