Tracks was a darn cornfield. I was there. It was bad in turns 3 & 4. They fixed that then 1 & 2 got really rough. They tried to fix it but track, series, and drivers decided to race remainder of the program May 2nd
Nathan Stephens
Next Race - TBA
2024 Season: 3 - Brownstown (IN) 1, Farmer City (IL) 1, & Kankakee (IL) 1

What’s a “rocket peace out”?

Atomic will probably be even more dangerous tomorrow. Higher speeds, new dirt, and close to the same amount of rain brownstown had mid-week. I have no clue why we still schedule races north of The Carolinas before mid April

You used one comma and it was still in the wrong place.

Baltimore’s finest
The problem is you talk about education, and try to knock public education, but yet cannot form an actual sentence. So I’m guessing your outright hypocrisy is the knock. Just a hunch.
And why knock public education, I have no idea? It is better than the alternatives 90% of the time.
And to answer that question that was somehow in that mumbo jumbo rant, they’d have probably been dead.
You can’t compare USAC wingless guys from 40-50 years ago to today’s late models that have so much traction it’s unsafe when the track is super heavy. Of course sitting behind your keyboard it’s an easy call. I can only imagine in person it was very hard to watch.
Amazing how some of you are so selfish and careless. Is it that hard to put yourself in a driver, car owner, or track officials shoes? Or how about a fan if one of them died? I only missed Shane Ungers death because of getting the stream to work, and not being there because of complications my wife had with our second child’s pregnancy. Nothing to do with track conditions(tragic accident), but never ever, do you want to see a death. Especially one that could be avoided by just making the right choice. Which Brownstown did.

Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

Shaping up to be great for Brad, Atomic, Lucas, drivers, and fans. I’ll catch the stream. With work tomorrow, I’d much rather stay at home. Wish them luck, and hope the track stays in great shape.

So in 2009 and 2012 at the UMP Nationals when Eldora ran after more than 2 inches of rain and ran all day on Saturday and had 120 to 140 mods and 50 to 60 late models and were flipping and tearing them up and the track was like a cornfield they should have cancelled? I remember Brand Thirlby flipping real bad and cars hoods flying off during qualifing and heats.

One time back in the 1980's the B-town track got water deep under the track in turn four down low. They were never able to fix it until they dug the track up at least eight feet in that area. It turned out that the drainage system wasn't working.
No matter how much grading or packing they did to the track, you could actually walk on it and it felt like walking on a waterbed. And it would go from smooth to rough in no time.
Not to say that is what is wrong this time, but it could be.

There’s aren’t any issues. New clay, cold temps and moisture are why it so rough. It will be just fine. Brownstown is the best it’s been in years.

I counted 25 cars in the pits here at atomic. No Thornton or Carpenters here yet.

I just hope they don't put the water truck away like the last few years!
I forgot about the new clay...

Well I was at Atomic tonight and it was pretty flawless and this area had more rain than Brownstown.
