SPRING CITY, TN – Ruben Mayfield of Lenoir City, TN was the fastest overall on Saturday in the Open Practice at Mountain View Raceway. Mayfield drove the Mayfield Racing Special around the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval in 10.860 seconds to earn $100 for the lap. The fastest drivers in each Division also earned a $100 bill.

The speeds were fast on a smooth and tacky Mountain View Raceway, and all lap times for those competitors that elected to run a transponder are available on the Race Monitor app. Jeremy Hicks of Cleveland, TN was the fastest Sportsman car and picked up a C-Note with an 11.520 second lap in the Hicks Motorsports Warrior.

Kelby Norwood of Athens, TN was fastest in the Beginner Sportsman Division with a lap in 11.207 seconds in the Booger Brooks Motorsports 23-year-old GRT Chassis. The 15-year-old driver had the fifth fastest time overall among the 80 cars on hand for the Open Practice Session. Sarah Patrick of Albany, KY was the fastest Open-Wheel Modified with a lap in 12.318 seconds in the Upchurch Carpet Special.

Adrian Williams of Ringgold, GA turned in the fastest lap for the B-Hobby Division at 12.518 seconds driving the A.J.’s Trailer Repair Special. Jonathan Sims was the fastest Thunder Car with a lap in 12.866 seconds. William Beddingfield of Decatur, TN drove his Beddingfield Racing Honda to the fastest lap in the Front-Wheel-Drive Division with a lap in 14.896 seconds.

David Dunlap of Oliver Springs, TN drove the Dunlap Racing Special to fast time honors in the Dwarf Car Division with a lap in 12.519 seconds. The fastest lap in the Mini Late Model Division was turned in by Jody Sparks of Brooket, GA in the Bluffton Plumbing Special with a time of 12.148 seconds.

Mountain View Raceway has announced they have added an Open Practice Session set for Saturday, March 20 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Pit Gate opening at 2 p.m. The Grandstand Admission is Free. The Pit Area Admission is $20 for those 12 and older, $10 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. Transponders will be available to rent for $5. RaceCeivers will be mandatory and will be available at the track.

The 2021 Season Opener at Mountain View Raceway will be Saturday night, March 27 for the eight weekly racing Divisions of Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Dwarf.
