Jason Riggs Earns Top Ten in Bristol Opener; Tanner English Back on LOLMDS Trail

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) It was a busy weekend for Riggs Motorsports on March 19-21, as Jason Riggs and Tanner English went in different directions to do battle in marquee events in the states of Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio. Jason headed to the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee for the inaugural running of the 'Bristol Dirt Nationals.' In Friday's $10,000 to win weekend opener, Jason grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race before driving past six competitors during the 25-lap feature to land in the ninth finishing position. The lucrative weekend at the high-banked oval then wrapped up with a $50,000 to win grand finale on Saturday, but Jason narrowly missed out on transferring into the 40-lap spectacular after running fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season also heated back up on March 20-21 with a doubleheader weekend at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana and Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. Following the postponement of Saturday's $15,000 to win 'Indiana Icebreaker' at Brownstown due to rough track conditions, the #81e team was in the pit area on Sunday at Atomic for the annual running of the 'Buckeye Spring 50,' which boasted a $12,000 payday.

Tanner posted the tenth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session before placing second in heat race action. The Benton, Kentucky ace then started seventh on the grid in the 50-lapper and climbed well up inside of the top five before unfortunately fading late to an eleventh place performance. With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sitting idle over the upcoming March 26-27 weekend, Tanner plans to invade I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee on Saturday night for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series opener. The single-day program at the newly reconfigured Volunteer State speedplant will shell out $10,053 to the winner. Jason, on the other hand, is slated to make the short trip to Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday for a $1,500 to win Super Late Model showdown.
