CCSDS Returns to Action this Weekend with Arkansas Doubleheader

Conway, Arkansas (04/13/21) – With a one-week break in the rearview mirror the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil returns to action this weekend.

The tour is set to sanction events at a pair of Arkansas bullrings. Central Arkansas Motor Speedway (Plumerville, Arkansas) welcomes the tour for the time ever on Friday night, while the historic Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) will host the series for the first time since 2016 on Saturday night.

“It’s always exciting to visit new venues, so we are looking forward to visiting Central Arkansas Motor Speedway on Friday night. The Wise family have done a lot at the place in the past year, and it should be a great show,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan said. “And then on Saturday night we return to Riverside International Speedway for the first time since 2016. That place a ton of history, and it’s an honor to be going back there.”

With six CCSDS events in the books this season, the tour has seen five different winners. Most recently Brian Rickman and Billy Moyer picked up wins, while Logan Martin, Cade Dillard, and Kyle Beard have all topped features as well. Only current Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man, Logan Martin has more than one triumph.

Martin leads the tour into the weekend with a 35-point advantage over Brian Rickman, while Ashton Winger sits in third, just 40 markers out of the top spot.

B.J. Robinson, Kyle Beard, Billy Moyer, Hunter Rasdon, Morgan Bagley, Scott Crigler, Mike Collins, Brayden Proctor, Chad Mallett, Billy Moyer Jr., and Wesley Wise round out the latest standings.

On the heels of the series last events, Mike Collins took back control of the top spot in the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle with Brayden Proctor and Wesley Wise in tow.

The weekend opens on Friday night at Central Arkansas Motor Speedway (Plumerville, Arkansas). Elia’s Mexican Grill has posted a $500 bonus to push the winner’s check to $3,500-to-win. The CCSDS feature pays $400 to start. Gates open at 5 p.m. CST with hot laps at 7 p.m. IMCA Modifieds, Mod-Lites, and IMCA Style Stock Cars will also be in action.

Grandstand admission is $20 with kids (ages 7-and-under) free. Pit admission is $35.

Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) plays host to a $3,000-to-win / $400-to-start event on Saturday evening. The tour last visited the oval in 2016 in an event won by Allen Tippen. Pancho’s 305 Winged Sprint Cars, 600cc Mini Sprints, and the Supply House Stock Cars will also be on the night’s card.

On Saturday the pit gate opens at 4 p.m. with general admission gates opening at 5:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing action at 7:30 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with children (ages 6-11) $5, and kids (5-and-under) free. Pit passes are $35.
