Fourth Win for Tanner English Comes at Lake Cumberland Speedway; Triple Shot Ahead!

(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) Tanner English and Riggs Motorsports celebrated in victory lane for the fourth time in 2021 on Saturday evening, April 17 at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky! Tanner clicked off the second fastest lap overall during the Super Late Model qualifying session prior to picking up the victory in heat race action. The Benton, Kentucky hotshoe then wired the feature field by leading every circuit in the 30-lapper to pocket the $2,200 payday ahead of Tommy Bailey, Cameron Marlar, Justin Rattliff, and David Webb!

Earlier in the tripleheader weekend, the #81e team was in the pit area at both Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia and Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. On Thursday in the inaugural Castrol FloRacing Late Model Night in America contest at Tyler County, Tanner wound up finishing sixth in his loaded heat race and fourteenth in the $10,000 to win headliner. At Ponderosa on Friday night in a $3,500 to win throwdown, Tanner earned Fast Time honors during qualifying and led the first half of the 30-lap feature before placing a strong runner-up behind only victor Zack Dohm! Complete results from the triple shot can be viewed online at www.floracing.com, www.ponderosaspeedway.net, and www.lcspeedway.net.

“We had a great car Saturday at Lake Cumberland and I can’t thank everyone associated with Riggs Motorsports enough for all of their support,” exclaimed English this week. “At Tyler County on Thursday, we struggled a little bit, but I think we found the issue this week at the shop. So we unloaded the other car for Ponderosa and Lake Cumberland and it was quick right out of the box. Zack (Dohm) beat us on tires on Friday or maybe we could have gotten a pair of wins over the weekend.”

Another big tripleheader awaits the Riggs Motorsports team from April 22-24 in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. Tanner will be in action later tonight in the second round of the Castrol FloRacing Late Model Night in America Series at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, as he guns for the lucrative $22,000 top prize. On Friday night, the action will quickly shift to Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky for a World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series shootout, which boasts a $10,000 paycheck. The weekend finale will then take place back at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky, as Tanner will look to find victory lane again in a $3,000 to win program.
